WHAT WE DO

FORMWORK

We use our own formwork materials on our projects. Any material that we do not own is sourced from our specialist material suppliers.

In-situ structural concrete works that we perform include, but are not limited to:

Civil construction concrete structures.
Sub surface footings, bases, ground beams and pile caps.
Retaining walls, walling and swimming pools.
Surface beds, columns, staircases, beams and suspended slabs.
Off shutter special concrete feature structures.
The erection of rib and block systems.

Management

Our sites are managed by experienced site managers and foreman.

They are responsible for:

Ensuring a labour force that is competent and enough for the task at hand.
Procuring materials on a timeous basis.
Daily client liaison on site.
Constant monitoring of work quality and production levels.
Monitoring site safety and ensuring the practical and legislative requirements for a safe site are continually adhered to.

Site safety

Superdeck Formwork places a huge emphasis on the site Health and Safety requirements.

We are highly experienced in the compilation and maintenance of documentation for site specific Safety Files and are familiar with the relevant legislative requirements.

All our site operatives are:

Subjected to annual medical tests to ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements.
Communicated all site specific risk assessments relating to potential risks that have been identified on site.
Communicated a safety and fall protection plan to prevent falls from heights.
Frequently check that our staff is issued and with full PPE. We vigorously enforce the wearing of all PPE by our staff on site.
Given weekly toolbox talks to create a culture of continual safety awareness and education.

CONCRETE PLACEMENT

We have extensive experience in the placement of structural concrete. We have literally placed thousands of cubic metres of concrete. Wherever possible, we incorporate this into the scope of works on our projects. This allows us to offer our customers a comprehensive structural concrete package.

ABOUT US

Superdeck Formwork specializes in the supply, erection and dismantling of formwork in the greater Cape Town area. Our core business is the supply and erection of formwork and the creation of structural concrete structures.

We have been perfecting this since our establishment in January 2009. During this time, we have successfully completed in excess of 185 projects.

The company was founded by Chris Melvill. He has been involved in the construction industry since 1996, when he completed his Construction Management qualification at the CPUT. He also has several years of international construction experience.
